The Pumpkin Pie Recipe


This recipe for pumpkin pie contains: 200 g wheat flour, 700 g pumpkin, 200 ml condensed milk 100 g butter, 3 eggs, 5 tbsp sugar, 2 tsp fresh grated ginger, 1 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/4 tsp ground cloves, 1/4 tsp salt.

To make pumpkin pie, first prepare the ingredients for the dough. In a large bowl, mix the flour with 3 tbsp sugar and 1/4 tsp salt. Softened butter cut into cubes and add to flour mixture. Mash the butter with the flour with your hands till the formation of fine crumbs. Whisk in to the mixture 1 egg and knead the dough. Wrap the resulting dough in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

At this time, prepare the filling for the pie. Pumpkin peel and cut into cubes, place in a steamer or a pressure cooker and steam for 20 minutes. Next cool vegetable, then place in a deep bowl. In the same capacity break 2 eggs. Using a blender grind the pumpkin and eggs into a homogeneous puree. Pour in puree, condensed milk and add the spices, mix the filling with a whisk.

Remove from the refrigerator dough and roll it into a thin layer, then put in a baking dish, form the base and sides. At the bottom of the form put beans or other weight. Send the dough in a preheated 220 degree oven and bake for 15 minutes.

After time remove the form from the oven, pour the pumpkin filling base. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Before serving cool the cakes to room temperature.
